Hi Remy
The offset issue sounds like a setting problem - I'll come back to that...
The 2nd consequence regarding deletions and file corruption may be down to what method of deletion you are using, so permit's try and sort that out. Where are you lot deleting the files from? If it is in WMP you should be getting the option 'delete from library simply' which is probably the most suitable selection. Is that how you become about information technology?
Dorsum to the importing...have you managed your content options? WMP library view 'Organize' - 'Options' - Histrion Tab - make certain the boxes for add local and remote media files when played are unchecked. I likewise uncheck pretty much everything on the library tab too (although star ratings are OK if you like to use them).
Please ask for more info if needed. - R

Hi RicW
Thanks for the speedy response. I do delete them from WMP in the fashion you lot draw, using the "delete from library only" option. I suspect the abuse occurred from trying to delete too many at one time. Information technology happened a couple of days ago, and I had to rebuild the library.
I believe I had the box foradd local and remote media files when played unchecked before the rebuild, but am not completely certain. I just unchecked it again, and will wait to see if that helps.
I'll write back in a few days to ostend or asking more options.
Thanks again!
Remy

That'southward why I put the exclamation marker...there's a flake of natural language-in-cheek intended - we all know how confused folk get past WMP's library. Let's await and see how Remy gets on and take information technology from there :)

I'yard well enlightened that WMP monitors the Music Library folders & that's where Itunes is located; was hoping someone could suggest a way to get WMP to ignore it or some other solution. Unfortunately unchecking theadd local and remote media files when played box only served to cause new songs I've uploaded onto WMP to disappear from the player; many (but not all) of the Itunes files I've already deleted have reappeared. To make matters worse, I rechecked that box but all new songs are still disappearing and I don't know how to get them back. They are uploaded using WMP and are located in the Music Library folder only WMP stops recognizing them after closing & then reopening. This never happened before. I tried rebooting the computer but WMP is still not showing any new songs that I've uploaded in the by 2 days. I tried the troubleshooter and once again it shows that the library is corrupted. This is after rebuilding it on 12/29/14. The thought of having to rebuild it nevertheless again is daunting because how much time information technology took clearing out all of the itunes files.

Hello again - as I said in the brief post yesterday (now deleted) we need to diagnose the problem causing this.
Information technology might exist an idea to showtime past looking at the iTunes settings and folders. I mentioned in an earlier post that I am running iTunes and WMP on W7 without any conflicts or library issues, and then if we cheque through our settings etc nosotros might pick up on something.
Earlier doing so - have you run Microsoft'southward sfc (system file checker) tool? It might be worth running that to see if it locates and corrects whatever problems. This is the link (UK version) - merely follow the instructions given.

I've run the SFC in the past and it had no outcome on WMP but did screw upwards some other things
That would propose at that place could be an underlying issue rather than sfc 'screwing up' ...
I think maybe nosotros should effort another approach which is to open up a new user account and set up WMP default libraries there and meet what happens - no interference from iTunes. Are yous happy to give that a get? Just import a few 'test' albums from a memory stick or cd and see if the library builds and behaves correctly.

Does anyone know the best way to end Windows Media Player 12 from automatically importing music & podcasts from Itunes? I constantly have to go through and delete the aforementioned ones over & over once again, and more than once this has caused file corruption (not sure why). It seems there should be an like shooting fish in a barrel fix but I am not savvy enough to try to find it on my ain.
Thank you!
Remy
